Q: How is your technology, product, or service different from other "streaming" vendors or webcam software. Answer: Excellent question. First, we are a unique combination of technology, service, and business models, that enable maximum flexibility, functionality, and affordability for businesses of any size. We actually do not "stream" live video in any of our offerings, though we can provide this for specialized requirements. Streaming of live video is very bandwidth-intensive, or, alternatively, is of very low quality (if you choose low bandwidth). Also, "live" streaming for either security purposes or entertainment purposes is of very little value. For security applications, no one wants to sit in a front of a camera at all times, in the hope of detecting a security-related event. Similarly, for entertaintment applications, customers/viewers don't want to view a "live streaming webcam" in the hopes of seeing something interesting, which rarely is the case. Our technology addresses all of these limitations in new ways. Finally, we don't make webcam software. There are over 40 companies who provide a myriad of offerings. We have negotiated changes with two suppliers (one for Microsoft Windows, and the other for the Apple Macintosh) so that our innovative approach can be implemented. The webcam software runs on a personal computer and captures video frames at a predefined (and changeable) interval.
