Sprint PCS Device Enabling Instructions

You must follow the instructions below to enable your phone to run "general purpose" Java programs such as the Cellicast(tm) 1.0 from What-Happened.com. "General purpose" refers to Java applications for Sprint PCS phones that are not sold through the Sprint PCS Java Vending Machine model.
  • Go to the Sprint Developer Site
  • Enter the appropriate information to create an account. This account is free.
  • Check your email inbox for the "Registration Confirmation" and click on the appropriate link to activate your newly created account.
  • Sign on to your account by clicking the "Sign on" button below the user ID and password fields, which should already contain your account information.
  • Click on the Welcome menu item "Coding" on the upper menu bar.
  • Click on the sub-menu item "Device Activation."
  • Under the text body of the page which reads "Device Enablement/Disablement", click on the link next to "Device/ESN Activation" where it says "Go there now."
  • Click on the link "Add new device" at the bottom of the page.
  • Enter the phone number and ESN. The ESN (electronic serial number) can be in two formats, decimal and "hex." Use the eight-character value for "ESN HEX." The ESN can usually be found by opening the battery compartment and using the first 8 characters of the text labelled "ESN HEX". When you click the "Submit" button, the device will be added to the list of available devices. THE ESN IS CASE-SENSITIVE!
  • Make sure your phone is on and that you have service/reception.
  • Congratulations - the device has just been added! Now you must select the phone from the list that appears (with just one item), and choose to enable it.
  • Please wait 20 minutes for device activation to occur.
  • Click here to close this window and return to Cellitest page.
