The following information will help you determine your device's platform. To begin, turn on your device.
- If your device says "Palm" when it starts up, then you know you have Palm-powered device. Cellicast 1.0 should work on the Treo 600, 650 or 700.
- If your device says "Powered by Windows Mobile or Windows Smartphone" then you have a Windows-powered device. Cellicast 1.0 should work if you are running Windows Mobile 5 (not Windows Mobile 2003). You may need to upgrade your .NET software depending on what version you have.
- If your device does not say either, then you most likely have a Java or BREW device. BREW is not currently
supported. To see if you have a Java-capable phone that is the correct version, please read the next paragraph.
- If you have a Java-capable phone, you'll need to determine if it supports the level of software required to run our Cellicast 1.0 software. First check and see if your phone is on our "already tested" list. Click here to see the list.
If your device is not on the list, you can look up your phone's make and model in the "TastePhone" database. The make and model is typically displayed when you power-on your device.
- Please click here to open a popup
window that displays the Java TastePhone database. Search for your device in the list, and see if the
entry for your device has "MIDP 2.0" and "CLDC 1.1" (or 1.0) listed. Also, the column labelled "MMA can take photos" must be "Yes."
- If you do not see an entry for your phone, please open a support ticket with your
phone's information and we will get back to you as soon as possible about the capability of your device. In general, we simply recommend signing up
for a free account and seeing if the software works on your phone.
